Can you put household cleaners and chemicals in a dumpster?

Usually not

Short answer: No for leftover chemicals, yes for empty rinsed containers.

Why

Dumpsters.com says chemical cleaners and solvents shouldn't go in a dumpster, but empty, rinsed containers can. EPA lists cleaners as household hazardous waste and warns that mixing products (e.g., bleach and ammonia) can react dangerously.

What to do with them instead

Use them up, or take them to HHW in their original containers.
